The Last Of Hell Week

Actually it went pretty damn good. We did a little less then last year, 498. At the end of the day there was only one undelivered bouquet in the store. Later, it turned out there was at least one more. One of the Valentine Day drivers, Terry, discovered she still had one in the truck of her car the next day. In the words of Christine "How can this be? Doesn't she write her deliveries down? " Didn't she notice the gap? Also, I have delivered a couple now to people who say theirs were suppose to be delivered on the 14Th. Well that's too bad since one of the order came through the Internet on the 16Th. I just tell them to call the store. None have yet.

All in all, I only took 21. Last year I took 35 or so. However to defend myself, last year I just kept going to Palmdale and the same area at that. This year I went out to 60Th and J/K over and over. Only this involved, the prison (twice), High Desert Hospital, (spent a long time looking for room 24, the only information given. Every building there except the Urgent Care trailer. Finally turned out to be in accounting on the backside of the Glen whatchamacallit building. Only took like an half hour.) And, Oh Ya, went out to Avenue X and 123 street east. Who knew there was an Avenue X! I didn't! Didn't break any Roses. :)

I got to talk to Jason, Saturday night. He took 21. Christine told me he broke roses on every run, (she also said he was a doll.) He kept deigning it, but finally copped to two. He made like $250.00 in two days. Lets see I made like $128.00 I feel a bit cheated, specially since I didn't get a pay hike when they raised minimum wage.

I have taken three replacements now. Two of them it was like, 'What's wrong with them?" Well one, didn't like the color! Second, not big enough! Third, yes, the petals were falling off. Man, that one was beautiful. Take a medium red rose. Now blend it with a California poppy. Now you have a Ventana Rose. It even gleams like a poppy. I seriously tried to take one of them home, even dug through the trash for them. But they weren't there. Damn.
