Pandenic On The Way?

Sure has the potential to be one. However what we seem to be having in the USA is the relatively mild kind, compared to the Mexican kind that is much more lethal. It's waaay to late to contain it, it's in several countries. And it's in my state, the largest metropolitan area to boot. It's only a matter of time before it shows up in my city, if it hasn't already. I'm sorta wondering what the driver supervisor and the other driver had last weekend.

To be on the safe side, I'm going to try buying a couple big bags of dry cat food along with the cheap litter, and some dry beans for me. Just in case. Of course I'm at high risk of being exposed to it, . . . I deliver flowers to the sick and dead people's families AND I deliver pizza to people who aren't feeling well and don't want to cook. I'm DOOMED I tell you! Hopefully that's not prophetic.

Could I be a (very) minor Samuel Pepys of my age? Will this blog get exciting? I don't want to be that "fortunate."

On the next street there is an house right on the corner. It is now boarded up, not because it is in foreclosure, but because the elderly woman who lived there had to go into a care and board home. It is boarded up, because it has been broken into 2 or three times. The house has been stripped! They even took the kitchen cabinets! Exactly how did the neighbors NOT notices this? I would sure have hell noticed someone taking my next door neighbor's cabinets out. Boy, my neighborhood is bad now!

I got my treasure box. I go a box of rice flake cereal, a bag of french toast strips, about 8 frozen hamburger patties, a package of bologna, a bag of south western skillet thingie, with no instructions as to cook it, save it must be heated to 160 degrees. Also, four packages of frozen green beans, a bag of broccoli, a Pace enchilada package thingie. And oh, ya, a lunch package of green applesauce for lunches and snacks. I'm sure there's other stuff, ooh, spaghetti too, cheesy meatballs, ya, that's right. Need to buy some sauce for it. also some bread..

Car Is In The Shop

The night before last, I noticed that it was over heating. In the four years that I have owned the car, that needle has never gone beyond the halfway mark. I guess the car was acting different, because I was actively looking at the dashboard to see if any lights were on. When I noticed that the needle was 3/4Th of the way up (not in red zone yet) promptly turned on the heater and the temperature returned to normal.

I actually left early Saturday night because it was over heating. Unfortunately Marie called me up Sunday and ask me to work her shift. I said yes, forgetting about the car. At first, for the first six deliveries, it did not over heat. But after that, . . .I ran the heater and the needle stayed where it was suppose to. But, by the time I had done 13 deliveries, the heater wasn't doing it anymore. The needle was starting to go up (never to the red zone), so I told them couldn't work anymore. To bad that meant Jerry was delivering by himself the rest of the night. Everyone else had called in sick.

Went home and took out two bags of trash. Still filled up with crap thou. Got up this morning and took some of the crap out of the car and rinsed off the car. Also cleaned the battery cables. Got there at the car shop as it opened. Asked the guy for estimate, he said $100 to $150. If it's the thermostat. Which it probably is.Walked home.

Saw a house on the next street over that was foreclosed. Looked it up on the web, when I got back to the house. IT'S GOING FOR UNDER 42,000! The estimated payments are $192! I could afford that!

But, apparently BF can't. I talked to her last week. She owns $1300 for taxes. She has $1300. But, she going to make payments to the IRS, in order to keep the $1300, in case she needs it for car repairs. This means, $1300 is all she has saved even although she has worked two jobs for over a year, has a roommate and makes $47,000. She has no down payment. I'm really perplexed. What is she doing with all the money? Okay $1000 for student loans (USC), $400 for rent, hmm, $150 for utilities, $350 for car, $160 for car insurance, lets say $400 a month for food, $200 for gas. . .$ 2660 a month. That leaves $1340 a month in savings. Even if she spends $300 a month on clothes and entertainment, easy to do, that still leaves $1000 a month to save! What the hell? Where is the money going?

I'm frustrated. I want her to get a house, so she can take her cats back. It's mostly Maddy (her cat) who is doing the spraying. If I could just get rid of him, my house would be so much cleaner .Food cost would go down. . .So would fur hair. But, apparently this is not going to happen for a long time, if ever. I'm stuck with him.

If I wasn't a messy, the cat would already be dead.As it is, I'm developing fantasies about Chasing him out of the house so he can live in the back yard and stare longingly at his mom through the living room window.

Well, have gained 5 pounds back!

It's the fig newton's fault, not mine!!! So what if I'm bought 3 packages and ate them in the last week and a half. . .

Anyway, just ate wonderful pork chop, mashed potatoes and green beans. So tasty. It took every oz of will power I have, not to eat the other two and all the mashed potatoes I made. I going to save the little bones off the chops and see if I can boil them up with some white beans, a little bowl. That way I will get at least four meals out of the chops. Which would make it around a $1.05 per meal. I am working hard at making every little bit of food count.

There is a learning curve. I have the second turkey drum stick in the fridge with jellied broth, but it's like ten day old. I'm not touching it. Next turkey, drum sticks get frozen separately, instead of together. I have to say, now that I am not freaked out, that I am enjoying myself, trying to get the most bang for my buck. I like cooking it seems. The washing, that's another story. Just need more recipes. I have found another blog, $5 dinners. I will start looking at their recipes, to expand my repertoire..

I am going to report on a conversation that the florist had with me as we went to pick up the van from a repair shop. He told me, that he had attended a trade luncheon, where they talked about employees getting lunch. He stated that he had misunderstood the law, or what they had said about it. He then asks ME what the law concerning lunches was. I told him I didn't know, exactly what the law was, but I knew I was suppose to get one after so many hours. I didn't know whether it was paid or unpaid. He told me it was unpaid.

After digesting this conversation for about two weeks, I have come to the conclusion that the conversation was actually about, finding out what I know about the labor laws. I really don't think that he doesn't know what the law is, since he's been running the business since the eighties. I find this really creepy. I'm not stupid, just slow.

Today a school teacher, was charged with kidnapping and killing an eight year old girl that lived in the same trailer park. The eight year old was raped and murdered, and placed in a suitcase which was then transported to a nearby pond and tossed in. The school teacher is a 28 year old WOMAN!!! What the hell, women rape little girls? I had no idea. But the charges were quite clear, the child was violated with a foreign object. This is horrible news to me. Men yes, women nooooo.

I have lost 15 pounds in 19 days. That's portion control and stress for you. I have been living on 1st turkey, (still). I have made turkey enchiladas, and soup. I have the drum sticks in the fridge and I'm going to soak my black beans and have turkey and black beans corn tortillas with cabbage and salsa. I will boil the bones up for broth. Still have two gallon bags of bones in freezer. Then I get to cook other turkey, same deal as first turkey. then I will start on the two chickens that my sister gave me.

So, have been working through my anger. I just boiled over at the employee meeting when I saw the size of my check. It was for $377. I started at 40 + hours. I am suppose to be a full time employee. He has reduced me to 24 hours. He makes me come in at 9 instead of 8. He took my Saturday away and gave it to a driver at another florist shop. Then to rub salt into my wound, he leaves her delivery sheet for me to put away, and he writes on it, how much he is paying her. She gets $8.25 A DELIVERY. I get $8.50 an HOUR.How is he saving money doing this? She got $77.00 last Saturday! He paid her $20 MORE then if I had worked the whole day, and there's no guarantee that I would have had to. I keep asking the instores, whether he's trying to force me out, but they say no, he doesn't want me to leave. But I am trying to leave. It's going to be near impossible to do it. but I'm trying,.

The meeting was about, how hours aren't going to cut anymore, and yes, we are getting our paid vacations, and how can we raise sales. I actually get two weeks this year.

I don't know what to do. I have had to dip into the property tax money that I had manged to save up to pay utilities.I going to get on the low income program Monday. I tried telling my sister, made an appointment to see her in order to talk to her, but when I got there she had dinner all ready and I just couldn't tell her that I don't think I'm going to be able to pay any of it. I also don't know whether she can pay it. By this time next year, I may be living in my car with my two main cats. I don't know what will happen to the rest. There is that women that Jackie cleans the teeth of, who has that almond orchard that she uses as a cat refuge. Maybe, I could pay her to "store" my cats.

Got another e-mail from Nigel. Sonja is at 26 and 1/2 week. they have bought most of the stuff they need, buggy, pram, ect. Nigel says that Sonja looks like she has a beach ball under her shirt! Also our president landed in England only 15 miles away from where Nigel lives in Saffron something! Also talked about housing situation. they only have a two bedroom house. If the baby is a boy, (which we all hope it will be, I don't want my mother's name to died out) they will have problems as moving involves going to a rougher neighborhood. They won't be able to afford a new house on their own until Sonja is through with her studies.

I must e-mail him back. It just takes so long on my phone, but i know for sure, that he gets them.
