The Color Purple

The irises have done incredibly well this year. Not only did some of my mother's irises bloom, but so did ones I have bought!

Mom's Iris

The iris I bought and planted 5 years ago, that bloomed the first year, had the bloom ripped off by the kid across the street, and never bloomed again until now. Yes, I like run on sentences. Deal with it.

And the irises I bought at the iris festival a couple of years ago and never planted are starting to bloom.
This is Mulberry Pink. I think not.

Why yes, THERE is a giant pine tree next door shedding those cones. And no, my green trash container disappeared last week so I'm waiting for the new one to be delivered to sweep them up!
