I have just discovered that the knive that I stuck in the cat door's locking slot is gone. Also the door moves up and down with the greatest of ease now. No sticking. Someone had been in the house.
That explains a couple of things, one, Marmie cat is terrified of me and is living in the garage. Two, I did have a couple odd silver coins left from the last burglar, but I can't find them now.
I have put another knife in...I figure the other one was removed the night I forgot to lock the door and it was open when I came home from work. The door handle bolt doesn't really work anymore and most of the time it stays inside the door. Its the dead bolt that keeps the door locked and closed, and that what I forgot to use, distracted by the mailman.
I really can't handle this stuff anymore. I'm going to move anything important over to my sister's house.
